What performance benefits and functions does the silicane hydrophobic powder provide?

Silicane hydrophobic powder, as an additive in cement-based mixtures, can improve the water-repellent properties of mortar and reduce the permeability of liquid water through capillaries in the mortar system.

Utilizing advanced carrier and slow-release technology, the active substances are released in a timely manner upon contact with water, forming a hydrophobic protective layer after the substrate has cured. As a hydrophobic additive, it can be used in dry-mixed mortar systems made from cement and minerals to prevent the absorption of water by capillaries/pores in the material, greatly reducing the water absorption rate of the substrate and providing the material with excellent hydrophobic properties.

Silicane hydrophobic powder can prevent liquid water from penetrating into cured cement-based materials through surface or capillary action; they can significantly reduce the water absorption rate of cement-based materials, even when in direct contact with water for more than 24 hours.

When the addition amount is 0.2%-2.5% of the dry mix materials’ weight, it has almost no adverse effect on the compressive strength of the material.

Comprehensive Protection & Stability

Silicane hydrophobic powder imparts uniform waterproofing to materials, unlike traditional waterproofing products. They do not require film formation on the substrate surface and do not alter the substrate’s appearance or texture. The product boasts excellent water solubility and dispersibility, dispersing quickly and evenly in water without affecting the wetting, mixing, or normal application performance of dry powder materials. Furthermore, it effectively inhibits efflorescence and whitening of the substrate, enhances the substrate’s freeze-thaw resistance and aging resistance, and helps the substrate maintain a clean, aesthetically pleasing appearance and uniform color over the long term. The product exhibits exceptional weather resistance and can withstand long-term UV exposure, providing long-lasting and stable water-repellent protection to the substrate without weakening its structural strength, resulting in excellent durability.
